Estate Planning for Families Who Want It Done Right

Flat-fee pricing. An experienced attorney (and his physician wife!) who sit down with you without rushing in your own home. Personal attention from start to finish.

Most People Put This Off. That’s Normal.

You already know you need an estate plan. The reason you haven’t done it yet isn’t laziness — it’s that the process has always felt overwhelming, expensive, or uncomfortable to think about.
We hear this from nearly every client we work with. Busy parents. Couples approaching retirement. Professionals who’ve built real wealth and know they need a plan that matches. The starting point is always the same: the feeling that this is going to be harder than it should be.
It doesn’t have to be. When the process is clear and the pricing is straightforward, most people wonder why they waited so long.
Comprehensive Estate Planning Services

What We Build for You

Every plan is built around your family, your assets, and your goals. We don’t sell documents. We sit down with you, understand your situation, and design something that fits.
Revocable Living Trusts

The foundation of most plans we build. A properly funded trust avoids probate, keeps your affairs private, and gives your family a clear roadmap when they need it most. We handle design, drafting, and funding guidance so nothing falls through the cracks.

Wills and Pour-Over Wills

For some families, a well-drafted will is the right starting point. For those with a trust, a pour-over will acts as a safety net for anything that wasn’t transferred during your lifetime.

Powers of Attorney

Illinois has specific requirements for powers of attorney. We draft both property and healthcare powers of attorney that comply fully, naming the people you trust to act on your behalf.

Healthcare Directives and Living Wills

These documents express your wishes about medical treatment at the end of life. Our consultations include insight from a physician, so you can make informed decisions about the medical scenarios that matter most.

Transfer on Death Instruments (TODI)

Under Illinois law, certain properties can transfer outside of probate with a properly recorded TODI. We’ll help you determine whether a TODI or a trust-based approach better serves your goals.

Business Interests

For clients with real estate holdings, companies, or other business interests, we can incorporate those into the estate plan too to ensure generational succession.

Something a Little Different

My wife is a physician. She’s practiced medicine in this community for many years, and she joins me for most consultations and all signing ceremonies.
Estate planning involves legal decisions and medical decisions. Most firms treat them as separate conversations. We don’t. When we discuss healthcare directives and medical powers of attorney, you get clinical insight from a doctor who has spent decades caring for children right here in Kankakee County. She helps you think through the medical questions with the same care I bring to the legal ones.
It’s an unusual combination. Clients tell us it makes a real difference.

How It Works

A Short Conversation

We start with a short phone call. We’ll learn about your situation and you’ll learn how we work. If we’re a good fit, we move forward. If not, we’ll say so.

Your Information, On Your Schedule

After our call, we send you a secure online questionnaire to complete from home at your own pace. It gathers what we need to prepare for your consultation: family details, assets, goals, and whatever questions are on your mind.

Your Planning Consultation

This is the meeting that matters. And we come to you. Most of our consultations take place at your home, where you’re comfortable and have everything at hand. There’s something about being in your own home that changes the conversation. People relax. They ask better questions. They think more clearly about what they actually want.
My wife and I sit down with you, walk through your goals, answer your questions, and design a plan together. We take as long as it needs. By the time we leave, you’ll know exactly what we’re building and why.

Drafting, Review, and Signing

We prepare your documents and send you a summary (or, if you wish, key excerpts or even a complete set) to review, At your signing ceremony, we walk through everything, answer your remaining questions, and handle witnesses and notarization. You leave with executed documents, funding instructions, and confidence that your plan is in place.

Flat-Fee Pricing

Our estate planning services are flat-fee. You know the cost before we begin — no hourly billing, no retainers, no surprises. Your specific fee is discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.
